Music Since 2022

Enjoy this selection of works that represents my most recent output, which includes my longest instrumental work as well as new forays into electronics and multimedia composition

I view This Could Be Madness as my greatest achievement in instrumental music to date. The work showcases percussionist Cameron Leach’s virtuosity and embraces my favorite musical ideas aesthetics, from indeterminacy to heavy metal riffs. Composed between 2020-2021, This Could Be Madness is a grand statement made at a time when the uncertainty we all faced led me to wonder whether I would ever hear my music performed again.

This ambient, synthesizer work was my contribution to the first ‘Resonant Soundscapes’ performance that I organized with Sara Tea and Julie Zhu in November 2024. The work is based on Vicente Lusitano’s motet ‘O Beata Maria’ (1551), and features dozens of stretched and processed layers that slowly degrade over the course of the composition.

This multimedia presentation of my 2024 electronics composition ‘Condemned to a Soulless Wealth’ uses images from the John Presidential Library’s digitized photography archive to ground my music in the reality of his presidency. Read more about my composition on the Ann Arbor District Library’s website.

This is a video compilation of the electronic music I released digitally between 2022 and 2023.
